Sensei Canady and his son live in Wallace, Duplin County, North Carolina. While training as a under-belts, Al and his son trained together often. Jordan's parents insist that he make school his first priority. This will be Jordan’s 12th year practicing Tae Kwon Do. Al and Jordan received training from several local martial arts experts, and received their first black belts from Sensei Joe Best of Rose Hill, NC. Master Best is a fifth degree black belt and has trained in many styles.
Al and Jordan practice several forms of martial arts including Tae Kwon Do and Jiu Jitsu. Lightningfoot Martial Arts School offers the best martial arts training available. Lightningfoot Tae Kwon Do School is registered with the International TaeKwon-Do Association. Al is a registered 3rd Dan and Head Instructor and Jordan is a registered 2nd Dan with the international TaeKwon-Do Association. This is your assurance of high standards and quality martial arts training by qualified instructors.
Why I believe martial arts training is so important. I have trained for many years in Tae Kwon Do, Ji Jitsu, weight lifting fitness and self defense. I cannot begin to tell you how much my life has changed. Stop by and visit our school and see what a difference it can make in your life. We are not just talking about the physical aspects either. I know you can accomplish any goal you set your mind to. This is where you can really enhance your life and gain so much insight about the person you really are.
Children have improved in school. Students that do well in school are rewarded with certificates and other forms of recognition. When a shy withdrawn child starts coming out of their shell and showing self control, power and becoming part of a team, it is a heart touching experience.
Our goal is too have the best martial arts school available. We have sponsored several children and are looking for investors and sponsors to continue this effort. We do not want any child to be on the streets and not have a good place to learn, play and sweat.
Many people have asked how we got our nicknames. Jordan was practicing kicks on a body bag one night and a gentleman came through and said that boy kicks like thunder, thus the name Thunderfoot. So how did Al get dubbed Lightningfoot? His wife of course, if her son is Thunderfoot and thunder comes from lightning then Al had to be lightningfoot. Oh well I guess I have no choice but to tell the real story. Al actually picked up a pecan with his toes, just playing around. He tossed it, (the pecan) at his wife gently and it hit her in the head. It really was funny! This technique picking up objects with his toes would become Al's trade mark. Sensei Al and his son have participated in dozens of tournaments winning many trophies and medals.
Come in and find your self confidence and the person you have been hiding.
